It's barely spring — the snow has melted and we're just now warming our faces in the sun — but we're already brainstorming for our fall programming. Yes, FALL PROGRAMMING! We're in the midst of a very active spring filled to the brim with great workshops, as well as getting ready for our summer writing workshops. But, we've certainly got fall on the brain!
At RAWK, we're all about working with a supportive and collaborative community. One of the many beautiful things about Kalamazoo is that our city is ripe with skilled artists, writers, hobbyists, trades men and women, and educators. This is what helps to make Kalamazoo such a dynamic and interesting place to live. RAWK has had the pleasure of welcoming creative individuals who've been willing to share these skills and crafts with our students: a localjewelry designer, graphic novelist, actors and directors, college professors ... the list could go on! How wonderful it is to build a true sense of community by rallying around our young students supporting their creative and intellectual growth! We know you've got a brilliant idea, and we're excited to help you shape it into a RAWK workshop that you'd facilitate!
Do you have an idea for a fun and engaging workshop for students? Do you know how to build robots? Would you like to write jokes with a small group of 4th graders? Do you have an urge to make a sculpture of recycled objects with a group of middle school students? What tricks and skills do you have up your sleeve? We're dying to find out!
We've got a workshop proposal form now, and we're eager for the talented and curious masses of Kalamazoo to take a look and start brainstorming with us. Check out our workshop proposal form, and submit your proposals to emily(at)readandwritekzoo.org
We look forward to hearing from you!
