Youth Leadership Camp

High school students will have the opportunity to work on poetry and prose writing while developing their leadership skills and ability to assist younger writers as a mentor. They will then put their skills into practice by serving as mentors during one of our week-long Writing Camps for younger students.
Youth Leadership campers’ writing will be published in our annual summer anthology and by fulfilling all obligations, Youth Mentors will earn a stipend of $200.

Who we’re looking for:
We are looking for high school students who love writing, are excited to learn how to develop skills as writing mentors, and who enjoy working with youth.

Monday through Friday
June 24–28
1:00 PM–5:00 PM

ALL KALAMAZOO COUNTY STUDENTS
9th–12th Grade

Additionally, participants will be scheduled to assist with one of the following weeks:
July 8–12 : 4th & 5th Grade POETRY
July 15–19 : 4th & 5th Grade PROSE
July 22–26 : 6th, 7th, & 8th Grade POETRY
July 29–August 2 : 6th, 7th, & 8th Grade PROSE

Stipend checks will be distributed at RAWK Reads on August 22, 2019.
