SUMMARY:Read And Write Nights - February
DESCRIPTION:Your favorite monthly virtual program is back…\nOh yes\, it’s Read And Write Night!\nKalamazoo County youth in grades K–5 are invited to join volunteers from the Western Michigan University chapter of the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association to spend time reading out loud then writing together to express their response to the story. \nHear a perspective that is new to you\, express your own ideas in writing\, and find power in the written word.\nAll Read and Write Nights will take place via Google Meet. \nEach participating family will receive a copy of our monthly book prior to the event\nThis month’s session is open to 16 families \n\nRegistration opens on January 4th\nClick here to register\nIn celebration of Black History Month\, our February title is Freedom Soup\nwritten by Tami Charles and illustrated by Jacqueline Alcántara \nJoin the celebration in the kitchen as a family makes their traditional New Year’s soup—and shares the story of how Haitian independence came to be.
