SUMMARY:First Saturdays October Workshop - Collage Storytelling
DESCRIPTION:Introducing RAWK First Saturdays Workshops and Open Studio Time for middle school and high school aged youth! \nOn the first Saturday of each month RAWK will offer a creative writing workshop from 1o:00am–11:30am and then open studio time from 11:30am–1:00pm \nOctober First Saturdays Workshop –\n\nTry your hand at storytelling using found images and art supplies. Make a scrapbook for a fictional character\, fill a booklet with curiosities\, or challenge yourself to tell a whole story on a single page. \nWe’re ready with magazines\, rubber stamps\, washi tape\, markers\, crayons\, colored pencils\, scissors\, and glue.\nFeel free to bring your own supplies! \n\nSnacks provided\, bring your curiosity and creativity. \nOpen to all middle and high school aged youth in Kalamazoo County. \n**Please note the time of First Saturdays has shifted to 10am–11:30am!** \nClick here to register\nReturning RAWKers who have participated in First Saturdays\, skip the registration form and email victoria@readandwritekzoo.org to claim your spot!

DESCRIPTION:Your favorite monthly virtual program is back…\nOh yes\, it’s Read And Write Night!\nKalamazoo County youth in grades K–5 are invited to join RAWK volunteers and volunteers from the Western Michigan University chapter of the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association to share our monthly picture book title. Working in small groups\, we will read aloud and then respond to the story with using engaging and creative prompts that encourage us to discuss\, write\, and draw!
