First Saturdays April Workshop – Magic Poetry with Kalamazoo Poetry Festival

April 6 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Introducing RAWK First Saturdays Workshops and Open Studio Time for middle school and high school aged youth!

On the first Saturday of each month RAWK will offer a creative writing workshop from 12:00–1:30pm and then open studio time from 1:30–3:00pm

April First Saturdays Workshop – Magic Poetry

Come cast some spells and disappear your fears through written word and spoken word poetry exercises in this 90 minutes workshop! Expect to read, write and share if you’d like! No pressure… just come, okay?

Facilitated intergenerationally by a youth and adult ally. Youth can also expect to receive a list of opportunities to share their work in the future through the Kalamazoo Poetry Festival, if they want to!

This partnership program is made possible by the Irving S. Gilmore Foundation, the Kalamazoo Community Foundation, the Harold & Grace Upjohn Foundation and the Kalamazoo Arts Council.

Youth who participate in the workshop are invited and welcome to stay after the workshop for Open Studio time!
